Released on Effluvia Recordings [ER050]:
Description by Effluvia Recordings:
"Today at Effluvia we celebrate the fiftieth release on this miasma of a label. This smelly compost of artistic perfection and flawless imperfection. Amidst the challenging soundscapes, the harsh noise, the delirious concrete experimentalism, the demented dance numbers, the ambient chills, that make up our discography, there is an underlying, never ending party, celebrating sounds and their miraculous existence. With release fifty, what better thing to do but bring this parade to the foreground, so that rather than testing the boundaries of our adventurous underground ears, we will test our bodies with the best dance music you’re likely to be pulverized by. Pogohm, a new outfit by a veteran of the underground, Arnaud Barbe (mastermind of Pollux) who has put so much time into making our artistically liberated collective not only survive, but flourish, has decided to change his output for the time being. Under Pollux much of his attention was turned towards rhythmic IDM ambient bliss, sometimes contemplative and filled with despair, sometimes so packed full of life you wonder why you ever mope around at all. This direction, the Pogohm direction, has mastered immediately the other end of the emotional spectrum. Raw vehement energy with beats that will smash you like a novelty mallet smashing a watermelon before an audience of ravaged hyenas, laughing maniacal… if you catch my drift! You will be floored, incapacitated by these harsh emissions that love to party. Pull out your glovelights, your blacklight posters, whistles, t-shades, colorful socks, and invite the sexiest women you could imagine to whatever mess you’re living in, blast this record, and celebrate this momentous occasion with Effluvia! Who knows, by the end of the night, the dancing could have fried your head and you will see the little green men that I do, that Pogohm does, that all the madmen artist sonic rockers of the world see. and oh what badass little extra terrestrials these tracks are."
